Abstract

This monograph offers a comprehensive study of the formation and development of anti-imperial thought within twentieth-century Ukrainian humanities scholarship. The authors examine the scholarly publicistic and epistolary legacy of prominent intellectuals—B. Zaklynskyi, M. Vozniak, M. Demkovych-Dobrianskyi, Ya. Dashkevych, and B. Yakymovych − demonstrating how their research in history, cultural studies, and literature challenged Russian/Soviet imperial narratives. The monograph elucidates the specificity of intellectual resistance to imperial models of power, outlines each scholar’s contribution to shaping Ukrainian critical historiography, and highlights the continuity of the anti-imperial tradition within Ukrainian academic discourse.
